Research areas:
Alexander Styhre is since 2010 professor and chair in organization theory and management at the department of business administration, School of Business, Economics, and Law, University of Gothenburg. Alexander defended his Ph.D. thesis in business administration at School of Management and Economics, Lund University in 1998. In 1999, Alexander started to work at Chalmers University of Technology. In 2002, Alexander became docent (habilitation) and in 2006 he was appointed professor in technology management, specializing in project management. In 2008, he was appointed the chair in operations management at Chalmers University of Technology.
Alexander has studies knowledge-intensive work in e.g., product development in the pharmaceutical, telecom, and automotive industry. He has also studied project management practice and organization change programs in for instance the construction industry. Alexander has published in the field of organization theory and management studies, including journal articles, research monographs, and textbooks.
